Vicaima chosen for major London regeneration Programme
Vicaima has been chosen by Rydon Construction to supply a total of 520 doors to Phase 3 of a £130million regeneration scheme at Packington Estate, Islington, London. This major eight-year, six-phase programme will replace 538 flats with 791 mixed-tenure houses and flats. Rydon is working in partnership with housing association, The Hyde Group, to deliver this ambitious project.
Currently in Phase 3, the key aim of this important project is to reconnect the community with the surrounding area, and provide the type of environment and people-centred spirit that existed before the 1960’s estate was built. Already clusters of low-rise buildings blend with neighbouring terraces and the historic street pattern have been reinstated, with Union Square restored with a street of replica Georgian townhouses.
Vicaima is proud to be associated with this key regeneration project, particularly as the whole build is meeting the Excellent Sustainable Homes Accreditation and Code 4 for Sustainable Homes. To date the leading interior door manufacturer has supplied 400 primed paint grade doors and 120 Dekordor in oak finish. Specification of primed paint grade doors is a popular and widely used choice – especially in large projects, where cost is a major consideration. Vicaima primed paint grade doors offer housebuilders a low cost solution with a consistent product quality and finish.
Dekordor is a natural alternative to real wood veneer, and is the original alternative to moulded skin doors. Dekordor has a man-made, foil finish which ensures a totally consistent colour and grain configuration; the benefits of which can be easily recognised where a number of doors are used in close proximity to each other. Finish effects include oak, ash, beech and walnut, and Dekordor can also be made in white and cross-directional oak.
Dekordor doors are FSC certified as standard, with numerous glazing and groove options and can be specified as FD30 and FD60 fire doors if required. Dekordor is also available in both standard and heavy duty variants to suit environmental demands.
