Vicaima doors enhance security at the new Cerebral Palsy Centre in Ponta Delgada
How Vicaima’s solutions are tailored to the daily needs of its users
Present in projects of various scopes in the national and international market, Vicaima has contributed its interior door solutions to the new São Miguel Cerebral Palsy Centre, now ready to welcome over 100 users.
Located in Ponta Delgada, in the Azores, the new space dedicated to health care and rehabilitation of people with cerebral palsy finds in the Portaro® solution, a set that combines door, frame, and accessories in a single piece, a distinctive signature in this project, demonstrating its different performance capabilities and adaptability.
The Portaro® EI30 AC32dB and Portaro® EI30 AC39dB Inverse solutions ensure an adequate response to two essential conditions for the normal operation of this health unit, fire protection, and sound insulation. The Portaro® FD60 Double Action, also installed here, is another option that ensures high protection against fire while facilitating the movement between spaces. All these performances are certified by accredited international entities, being essential elements in this project.
The building also features the Portaro® Inverse. With this option, it is possible to incorporate a door flush to the architrave or wall panels, creating a straight and continuous surface, with the entire design of the building involving the search for a setting which conveys tranquility and fosters a sense of amplitude in each area.
Given the necessity to conform to the daily usage patterns of the Centre’s various services by both clients and healthcare professionals, the Portaro® Pocket Door model was selected, a design that contributes to a greater sense of space and optimisation of the surrounding areas.
The choice of finish fell on Ash Grey from the Dekordor® HD Colours range, filling every corner of the rooms, corridors, and common areas, where Vicaima solutions are located, with simplicity and in line with the other tones. As a highly durable laminate, the two main features include scratch resistance and easy maintenance, especially relevant in a space with multiple facilities dedicated to the daily and intensive use of users.
The different solutions from the company integrated into this project are part of the wide range of options available with FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®) certification, the entity that promotes responsible forest management.
Committed to engaging in projects of fundamental importance to the local community, Vicaima thus contributes to a project that reinforces the region’s capacity to provide essential care to the population.
