The Lusíadas Paços de Ferreira Hospital is an important asset offering private healthcare in the Tâmega and Sousa region and stands out as a benchmark project in the field of local healthcare. Integrated into the second floor of the Ferrara Plaza Shopping Centre, this hospital is the result of the refurbishment and adaptation of a commercial space to the rigorous requirements of a clinical environment, giving rise to a healthcare facility which combines functionality, efficiency and compliance with clinical requirements.

Covering an area of over 4,000 m², the hospital includes an operating theatre with two surgery rooms, 25 consulting rooms, exam rooms, state-of-the-art imaging services and several technical and support facilities, designed to meet the highest standards of quality, sanitation and safety. In this particularly demanding context, Vicaima contributed with a wide range of Portaro® solutions, consisting of door, frame and accessories in a single piece, specially suited to hospital environments and installed in the different areas of the facility.

Fire protection was particularly important in this project, which was reflected in the integration of certified solutions that guarantee fire resistance for up to 60 minutes, such as Portaro® EI60 and FD60, as well as up to 30 minutes, through Portaro® EI30 and Portaro® EI30 Inverse. The coordinated application of these two solutions simultaneously contributed to compliance with fire safety requirements and visual consistency in a space dedicated to healthcare. Found in several areas of this modern hospital infrastructure, the Portaro® EI30 Inverse enables doors to be aligned with panels or architraves and the creation of straight, continuous surfaces, providing a uniform visual appearance while not compromising technical performance.

To meet specific requirements for circulation and space management, the Portaro® Sliding Door was integrated in high-traffic areas, allowing for the smooth flow of movement and optimisation of space, while maintaining the level of resistance and durability required in a hospital setting.

Aesthetics also play a prominent role in the diversity of finishes selected for the different areas of the healthcare facility. Vicaima’s wide range of decorative finishes was fully exploited, with the use of Shadow Grey and White from the Dekordor® HD Colours range, as well as Dekordor® SD White. The use of the Savannah pattern from the Dekordor® Visual Sensations collection introduces an elegant contrast to the neutral tones, adding distinction and sophistication to the spaces. The set of finishes used in the clinical, technical, service and circulation areas is complemented by Lacdor RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey.
