Vicaima, a major European player in the design and production of vanguard solutions for doors, frames, wardrobes, panels and furniture items, was the door brand elected to provide expression to The Lodge Wine & Business Hotel. This five-star hotel is the result of the conversion of an old port wine cellar. The architectural lines which outline the property respect its original identity, along with its history, having elements that refer to the wine theme, while maintaining its business orientation. Located in the historical heart of Vila Nova de Gaia, alongside the Port wine cellars, The Lodge Wine & Business Hotel, bears the signature of the Atelier Nini Andrade Silva, and is marked in its genesis, by the fusion between modern design and the stamp of tradition.

Vicaima’s value proposition contributed to enhancing the authentic spirit and the experience that is connected to the wine and gastronomy of Porto and the entire Douro Region, making reference to the wine universe and the fusion between creativity and the stimulation of the senses.

This luxurious hotel features distinct Portaro® solutions by Vicaima - consisting of door, frame and accessories in a single piece. This versatile system, available in a wide range of designs and finishes, is the ideal solution for an elegant and distinct décor like that of The Lodge Wine & Business Hotel. Featuring numerous interior door solutions and fire or acoustic performances certified by international accredited bodies, the applications ranged from Portaro® Inverse EI30 AC38 dB, a solution presenting the door faced with the panels, to Portaro® EI30 AC33, 42 or 49 dB. A number of Portaro® Sliding doors were also fitted, known for their versatility and space optimisation, Portaro® Swinging to facilitate staff circulation between different areas, as well as wardrobe faces, which are highly versatile and functional. The integrated options are designed to reinforce the high standards of comfort, security and acoustics of The Lodge Wine & Business Hotel and are found throughout the entire Hotel, starting at the room entrances, the restaurant, the kitchen, auditoriums, reception, corridors and technical areas. 

Appealing to the senses and sensitivity of design and interior decoration lovers, the finishes and coatings used were Grey Lacquer RAL7016 and RAL7030, emphasising the desired luxury and refined ambiance, and Naturdor® Walnut, with a matt varnish reflecting the aged wood look of the wine barrels and the colour of the autumn leaves. To further complement the spaces with a touch of contemporary exclusivity, Match panels were applied, also with a customised pattern and matt varnishing, bringing personality and originality to the space.
