Vicaima’s door kits blossom at Saffron Square

2013-04-23

A long disused industrial and commercial site in the centre of Croydon is being redeveloped by Berkeley Homes and looks set to change the face of the town. Saffron Square, a high quality, mixed used development is now under construction. It will include an iconic 45 storey tower - clad in muted tones of mauve and pink to reflect the image of a crocus – and a new public town square.  The scheme comprises commercial uses on ground and first floor levels with 756 private residential studios, 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments and penthouses on the upper floors as well as secure underground parking.

Berkeley Homes has once again chosen doors by Vicaima to complement their apartments’ stunning interiors.

FSC Portaro door kits have so far been supplied to the Rossetti, Keats and Waterhouse apartment buildings.  Some doors and frames have been supplied finished in Eucalyptus veneer and others were supplied in a Grey SL veneer factory lacquered finish.  All doors have solid cores and some doors include FD30/FD60 and Secured by Design performance options.  Sample doors have also been supplied to the marketing suite for the purpose of demonstrating the quality of finish to potential homebuyers.

Saffron Square will include affordable homes for young people and the local community as a whole and has the backing of the government’s NewBuy scheme which aims to make home buying affordable for first time buyers.  Architects for the scheme are Rolfe Judd with whom Berkeley Homes have worked in successful partnership before, picking up several awards.
