Wardrobes as interior architecture

Case Study: At Seaway at The Surf Club in Miami, the Vicaima Wardrobe Transform Range brings bespoke storage, material continuity and design coherence to an exceptional residential setting.
Part of the Vicaima Wardrobe portfolio, the Transform Range is based on a tailor-made concept developed for projects where personalisation, material quality and architectural integration are essential.
Through exclusive wood veneers, sophisticated lacquers, customised patterns and textures, each solution can be designed around the dimensions, functional requirements and visual language of the space. The result goes beyond conventional storage: wardrobes, Walk-in closets or dressing room solutions become an integral part of the interior architecture.
This approach is particularly relevant to premium residential developments, where quality is conveyed through the coherence between materials, proportions and details. By coordinating wardrobes with doors, wall panels and bespoke furniture, the Transform Range helps create composed interiors in which every element contributes to the same design narrative.
Seaway at The Surf Club: bespoke design by the ocean
Located in Surfside, Miami, Seaway at The Surf Club comprises 34 exclusive residences across two towers, including three penthouses with private terraces and three duplex villas by the ocean.
Positioned alongside The Surf Club Four Seasons Private Residences, the development combines architecture by O’Donnell & Partners with interiors by Joseph Dirand. References to classic European modernism are interpreted through a contemporary composition of glass, stone and natural materials, establishing a sophisticated yet understated residential environment.
To support this architectural vision, Vicaima supplied more than 500 elements for the project, including doors, wall panels, wardrobes and bespoke furniture. Rather than being specified as separate product categories, these components form a coordinated interior solution across the residences.
At the centre of this contribution are the customised wardrobes and dressing-room solutions from the Transform Range, developed around the functional and aesthetic requirements of each home.
Their tailor-made character allowed dimensions, internal configurations and finishes to be adapted to the different layouts while maintaining a consistent design direction. Integrated into the surrounding architecture, the wardrobes preserve the clarity of the spaces instead of appearing as independent volumes.
Storage therefore becomes part of the composition itself: present where required, but discreetly incorporated into the proportions, surfaces and material palette of each interior.
Material continuity as a mark of refinement

The Vicaima elements incorporated into the project feature Naturdor® Stained Oak with a matt finish. The natural character of the wood introduces warmth and texture, while the restrained surface supports the calm and balanced atmosphere of the residences.
Applied across wardrobes, doors, wall panels and bespoke furniture, the finish establishes a continuous material thread throughout the interiors. Although each component performs a different function, the alignment of tone, grain and surface character allows them to be perceived as parts of one coherent composition.
This continuity is fundamental to the project’s premium identity. Luxury is expressed not through ornamentation, but through authentic materials, considered proportions and precise transitions between doors, walls, storage and furniture.

The visible wood grain gives depth and individuality to each surface, while the matt finish maintains a quiet, contemporary expression. The result is a rich yet controlled palette that complements the architecture without overwhelming it.
Beyond the traditional wardrobe
The contribution of the Transform Range extends beyond wardrobes and dressing areas. Vicaima also developed television cabinets, storage cupboards and decorative furniture pieces tailored to the residences.

This broader application demonstrates the range’s ability to support a complete vision of integrated furniture. Architects and interior designers can coordinate different elements within the same aesthetic and material framework, preserving the integrity of the original concept and reducing visual fragmentation.
For residents, this translates into spaces that feel intuitive, organised and highly considered. For the design team, it provides greater control over the relationship between functionality and architecture.
The project also highlights the importance of manufacturing expertise within the premium segment. A bespoke concept must not only respond to a creative vision; it must also be delivered consistently across multiple elements, with the precision, quality and durability expected from a development of this standard.
An integrated Vicaima interior
Alongside the Transform Range, Seaway at The Surf Club incorporates Portaro® Pocket Door, Portaro® Pivotal and Portaro® Integrated, as well as interior doors with aluminium frames, doorless frames and wall panels.

Together, these solutions reinforce a continuous architectural reading, with doors, wardrobes, furniture and wall surfaces treated as coordinated components rather than separate additions.
Seaway at The Surf Club demonstrates how the Vicaima Wardrobe Transform Range can elevate storage into a defining element of the interior. Through bespoke configurations, refined materials and close coordination with doors, panels and furniture, the range becomes an instrument of interior architecture.
